Training needs analysis' is a term being used often but unfortunately
many people do not fully understand its meaning. So, what does it mean?
To answer this question we first need to understand what is meant by a
'training need'. A training need exists when there is a gap between what
is required of a person to perform their duties competently and what
they actually know which enables them to do so. A training needs
analysis is the method of determining whether a training need exists, and
if it does, what training is required to fill the gap.
