It is a space strategy with a maze game, shooter and RPG features. In this game you’ll produce different objects, (robot-soldiers, electronic guns, space ships and so on), struggle against enemy objects, find enemy base and defend your base. You’ll be a robot-soldier driver, operator of the electronic gun and rocket plant, and pilot of the space ship.

This game has 2 levels: level 1 "Play with the computer" and level 2 "Play with a partner through the internet".

In level 1 you can choose the difficulty level, you can use spoken help, you can save and load the game. The Computer will imitate your partner.

In level 2 you can play with a real partner through the internet, you can use text messenger to write to your partner. Also you can use the SAPI engine to hear the messages from your partner.

If you are totally blind you don't need sighted friends or relatives help. You don't need a screen reader to play this game if you have SAPI text to speech engine installed on your computer.

This program requires 80 mb free space on your hard drive, Windows XP, Windows XP 64, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, DirectX 8.0 drivers, and a Pentium 4 processor, RAM 256mb or more, 128 mb free. If you want to play with a partner through the internet, your computer must be connected to the internet.

To play an online game, we recommend you have an ADSL connection or higher as the amount of data being sent to and from the internet is quite large, and people who use dial up connections may experience some sluggishness in game play.

After the installation please read this manual carefully.

The first step after installation must be the configuration of the program. For this purpose you should open the program group “Galaxy ranger", that will be in your start menu. Then you should start the Galaxy ranger configuration program. You need your screen reader in this program. Use the tab key to move from one text field to another.

There are 4 text fields, which you must fill. You'll hear the name of the first text field. If you hit the tab key once again, you'll be in the text field that you must fill. You can now type the required data. Then you should hit the tab key once to hear the name of the next text field, and hit tab key once more to move to the next edit field.

The last field is Login. It will be your name when you play with partners through the Internet. Use numbers and letters to type your Login. Maximum size of your Login is 6 symbols. You can't use the space symbol in your login. You must fill all fields and then hit the "Ok" button.

You must configure the game once only. If you uninstall this program and install it on another computer, you need to configure the game again.

Please note, you can change your login only before registration of the program. If you need to change your login after registration of the program you must unregister your copy, change your login, and then register your copy again. So, you can’t change your login after registration.

You are a Galaxy ranger. You must defend your Galaxy from aggressive civilization ships.

One time you’ve got a message that enemy ship has landed on one of the planets of your Galaxy. Enemies want to build a base on this planet to use this base in future attacks against your civilization.

You must land on this planet; build your base and factory. You will use your base as the command post and you’ll use the factory to produce military machines (objects) to struggle against the enemies.

So, you are already on the planet. You have your base and factory. Also you have minerals. You need these minerals to produce the objects.

Your task is: to find the enemy base and destroy it.

This game is placed on the board 100X100 cells. Your base, your objects, base of your partner and his objects will be placed on this board. So, each cell has its coordinates. For example: 20x35 and so on. Each object will have coordinates of the cell on which this object is placed in the current moment.

If your object moves to the North, its second coordinate will increase. If it moves to the South its second coordinate will decrease. If it moves to the East its first coordinate will increase. If it moves to the West, its first coordinate will decrease.

You and your partner have the bases. Your base position and your partner’s base position will be set randomly. You don’t know your enemy base position in the beginning of the game and your partner doesn’t know your base position.

Each gamer has a factory. Each partner can produce 8 kinds of objects: workers, trucks, soldiers, electronic guns, rocket plants, space tanks, space scouts and space cruisers. You and your partner can produce any object only if you have enough minerals for this object. Please note, you may have maximum 10 objects of each kind simultaneously. You’ll lose your objects for any reason and you can produce these objects again if you need and if you have enough minerals.

Please note only workers can mine minerals and only trucks can transport minerals to the factory. Also please note the maximum quantity of minerals at the factory is 100. If the factory has more than 90 minerals, the trucks won’t be able to unload the minerals to the factory, because each truck transports 10 minerals.

Three kinds of objects (soldiers, space tanks and space cruisers) can move, search for and destroy the enemy objects. Two kinds of objects (electronic guns and rocket plants) can’t move, but they can search for and destroy the enemy objects if they are in range. the Space scout can move and search for enemy objects, but it can’t destroy any objects.

Please note, only space cruiser can destroy the enemy base. If your cruiser is on the cell where the enemy base is situated, you must hit the delete key and the enemy base will be destroyed. If the enemy’s cruiser is on the cell where your base is situated, your base will be destroyed.

The game will continue till one of the bases will be destroyed.

There are 5 difficulty levels in the game.

First level – is Easy. It is a training level. In this level you will know the enemy base coordinates in the beginning of the game, but computer will not know your base coordinates until the computer’s scout has found your base. All units will move slowly. You will have quite some time to react if you defend your unit or shoot the enemy unit.

On the easy level, gamers can hit the letter Z to check which weapon to use to shoot an enemy object when in battle.

Your units can’t go out the game board. If the coordinates of your unit is0 or 99 it will stop.

Other levels are more difficult. You won’t know the enemy base coordinates until your scout finds it. Your units can go out the game board. You have less time to react on each difficulty level.

If you are totally blind you don't need sighted friends or relatives help. You don't need a screen reader to play this game if you have SAPI text to speech engine installed on your computer.

This program requires 80 mb free space on your hard drive, Windows XP, Windows XP 64, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, DirectX 8.0 drivers, and a Pentium 4 processor, RAM 256mb or more, 128 mb free. If you want to play with a partner through the internet, your computer must be connected to the internet.

To play an online game, we recommend you have an ADSL connection or higher as the amount of data being sent to and from the internet is quite large, and people who use dial up connections may experience some sluggishness in game play.

If you want to use the text messenger without your screen reader you need the SAPI text to speech engine installed on your computer.

If you have surround sound system you'll enjoy this game. If you haven't got a surround sound system you can play this game too but you need a stereo sound system minimum to play this game.

@@ After installation

After the installation please read this manual carefully.

The first step after installation must be the configuration of the program. For this purpose you should open the program group “Galaxy ranger", that will be in your start menu. Then you should start the Galaxy ranger configuration program. You need your screen reader in this program. Use the tab key to move from one text field to another.

There are 4 text fields, which you must fill. You'll hear the name of the first text field. If you hit the tab key once again, you'll be in the text field that you must fill. You can now type the required data. Then you should hit the tab key once to hear the name of the next text field, and hit tab key once more to move to the next edit field.

The last field is Login. It will be your name when you play with partners through the Internet. Use numbers and letters to type your Login. Maximum size of your Login is 6 symbols. You can't use the space symbol in your login. You must fill all fields and then hit the "Ok" button.

You must configure the game once only. If you uninstall this program and install it on another computer, you need to configure the game again.

Please note, you can change your login only before registration of the program. If you need to change your login after registration of the program you must unregister your copy, change your login, and then register your copy again. So, you can’t change your login after registration.

Also please note, you can unregister your copy for 3 times only.

If you have unregistered version you should prepare it for demo mode.

First of all you should run the configuration program and fill in all fields. Please note, you will use login in demo mode. If you’ll purchase the copy and register your copy, you should change your login.

Then you should register your copy by using temporary product id for demo mode. Temporary product id for demo mode is below:

Please copy this product id to the Windows clipboard, run the register program and click on the button “Register”. Please note, you must be online at this moment.

If your copy is registered for demo mode, you may play the game with some restrictions:

1. You will be able to play up to 20 minutes, and then game will be closed.

2. You can not save and load game in demo mode.

3. Demo mode will expire in 3 days.

You will be able to try most of game’s features, even online game.

Each time you start the program you should activate demo mode. Use the “Demo mode” item in the main menu for this purpose. Please note, you must be online when you choose “Demo mode” and hit the Enter key.

So, you can play the game in demo mode for 3 days with some restrictions. Please note, this time isn't the same as your computer time. Don’t forget to activate demo mode by using the “Demo mode” main menu item each time when you run the program.

After 3 days the demo mode will be unavailable.

You are a Galaxy ranger. You must defend your Galaxy from aggressive civilization ships.

One time you’ve got a message that enemy ship has landed on one of the planets of your Galaxy. Enemies want to build a base on this planet to use this base in future attacks against your civilization.

You must land on this planet; build your base and factory. You will use your base as the command post and you’ll use the factory to produce military machines (objects) to struggle against the enemies.

So, you are already on the planet. You have your base and factory. Also you have minerals. You need these minerals to produce the objects.

Your task is: to find the enemy base and destroy it.

@@ Rules of the game

This game is placed on the board 100X100 cells. Your base, your objects, base of your partner and his objects will be placed on this board. So, each cell has its coordinates. For example: 20x35 and so on. Each object will have coordinates of the cell on which this object is placed in the current moment.

If your object moves to the North, its second coordinate will increase. If it moves to the South its second coordinate will decrease. If it moves to the East its first coordinate will increase. If it moves to the West, its first coordinate will decrease.

You and your partner have the bases. Your base position and your partner’s base position will be set randomly. You don’t know your enemy base position in the beginning of the game and your partner doesn’t know your base position.

Each gamer has a factory. Each partner can produce 8 kinds of objects: workers, trucks, soldiers, electronic guns, rocket plants, space tanks, space scouts and space cruisers. You and your partner can produce any object only if you have enough minerals for this object. Please note, you may have maximum 10 objects of each kind simultaneously. You’ll lose your objects for any reason and you can produce these objects again if you need and if you have enough minerals.

Please note only workers can mine minerals and only trucks can transport minerals to the factory. Also please note the maximum quantity of minerals at the factory is 100. If the factory has more than 90 minerals, the trucks won’t be able to unload the minerals to the factory, because each truck transports 10 minerals.

Three kinds of objects (soldiers, space tanks and space cruisers) can move, search for and destroy the enemy objects. Two kinds of objects (electronic guns and rocket plants) can’t move, but they can search for and destroy the enemy objects if they are in range. the Space scout can move and search for enemy objects, but it can’t destroy any objects.

Please note, only space cruiser can destroy the enemy base. If your cruiser is on the cell where the enemy base is situated, you must hit the delete key and the enemy base will be destroyed. If the enemy’s cruiser is on the cell where your base is situated, your base will be destroyed.

The game will continue till one of the bases will be destroyed.

@@ Difficulty levels

There are 5 difficulty levels in the game.

First level – is Easy. It is a training level. In this level you will know the enemy base coordinates in the beginning of the game, but computer will not know your base coordinates until the computer’s scout has found your base. All units will move slowly. You will have quite some time to react if you defend your unit or shoot the enemy unit.

On the easy level, gamers can hit the letter Z to check which weapon to use to shoot an enemy object when in battle.

Your units can’t go out the game board. If the coordinates of your unit is0 or 99 it will stop.

Other levels are more difficult. You won’t know the enemy base coordinates until your scout finds it. Your units can go out the game board. You have less time to react on each difficulty level.

Please note, in the easy difficulty level you’ll have 100 minerals in the beginning of the game, in the normal – 80, in the hard – 60 and so on.

Also please note, in the easy difficulty level you may have 10 units of each kind simultaneously. In the normal difficulty level you and computer may have 4 military units simultaneously, in the hard – 6 and so on.

If you play the online game, you may have 5 military units of each kind simultaneously.

You can start the game after installation and the configuration of the program. You should find a program group, “Galaxy ranger", and a shortcut “Galaxy ranger on your desktop. Then you can unload your screen reader and hit the enter key to start the game.
