IAS 17 Leases standardises the acco

IAS 17 Leases standardises the accounting treatment and disclosure of assets held under lease.
In a leasing transaction there is a contract between the lessor and the lessee for the hire of an asset. The
lessor retains legal ownership but conveys to the lessee the right to use the asset for an agreed period of
time in return for specified rentals. IAS 17 defines a lease and recognises two types.
