Scientific Conference celebrating 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2/9/1945 - 2/9/2015)

A scientific conference themed “70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (2/9/1945-2/9/2015)” was organized at Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics on August 28, 2015 to celebrate 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day. Chaired the conference were Prof, Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, President of the Academy; Assoc.Prof, Dr. Le Quoc Ly, Vice President of the Academy; Assoc.Prof, Dr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Director of Institute of Party History; Dr. Le Van Loi, Director of Department of Scientific Management.

Affirming the values and historical significance of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the participants attending the conference agreed that the victory of the August Revolution was an inevitable result of the strength of the Vietnamese people’s passionate patriotism built up over thousands of years and the crystallization and shine of Vietnamese inner strength. The victory of the August Revolution not only contributes national independence to become the common values in the new era but also ushers a new political orientation of colonies and dependent nations to win the freedom and strive to build socialism.

The August Revolution broke an important link and promoted the irreversible disintegration of the colonial system, greatly contributing to accelerating the disintegration and opening the collapse of the old colonial system existed almost half a millennium of the world history. Although Vietnam was not the single colony struggling for its independence, it was the first country to gain independence with its own strengths, to pursue national independence associated with socialist orientation, regardless all the anti-fiecely not only from the French colonist but also from the whole system of impertialism in the world.

The biggest achievement of the August Revolution in 1945 is the establishment of the new revolutionary state of Vietnam – the birth of Democratic Republic State closely connected with the people and the first democratic state in Southeast Asia.

At the conference, the participants, including researchers and scientists, have analyzed and clarified the lessons about seizing opportunities and preparing the forces for the success of the August Revolution. The opportunities in the August Revolution were a harmonized combination of objective and subjective factors of internationnal and domestic situation. Taking place in special historic moment, but the lessons learned about creating opportunities, grasp the opportunities in August Revolution was applied and development culminated in two wars against French colonialists and imperialists US invasion by the Party. The values of theory and practice that has been applied by the party in leading the revolution and in the “doi moi” process.

The conference confirmed that the decisive factor of the victory of the August Revolution is correct and creative revolutionary guidelines of the Party, and the bloc of national unity under the banner of Viet Minh Front. The participants also agreed that the great national unity bloc under the banner of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to be the driving force, is a solid basis for the building of the country in the period of acceleration of industrialization and modernization.

Along with analyzing the values and historical significance of August Revolution and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, many representations focused on summarizing and affirming the achievements has achieved in the process of the national democratic revolution to socialist revolution for 70 years.

Receding into history but the enormous values of the August Revolution and achievements of 70 years building the country the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) continue to play important roles in striving to well accomplish the assigned tasks for the objective of a prosperous people, a strong country, an equitable, democratic and civilized society.

Một hội thảo khoa học với chủ đề "niệm lần thứ 70 của Cách mạng tháng Tám và Quốc khánh nước CHXHCN Việt Nam (2/9 / 1945-2 / 9/2015) "đã được tổ chức tại Học viện Chính trị Quốc gia Hồ Chí Minh vào ngày 28 Tháng tám 2015 để chào mừng kỷ niệm 70 năm Cách mạng tháng Tám và ngày Quốc khánh. Chủ trì hội nghị có Giáo sư, Tiến sĩ Tạ Ngọc Tấn, Giám đốc Học viện; Assoc.Prof, TS Lê Quốc Lý, Phó Giám đốc Học viện; Assoc.Prof, Tiến sĩ Nguyễn Mạnh Hà, Giám đốc Viện Lịch sử Đảng; Tiến sĩ Lê Văn Lợi, Giám đốc Sở Khoa học Quản lý. Khẳng định giá trị và ý nghĩa lịch sử của Cách mạng tháng Tám và sự ra đời của nước Cộng hòa Dân chủ Việt Nam, các đại biểu tham dự hội nghị nhất trí cho rằng thắng lợi của Cách mạng tháng Tám là một kết quả tất yếu về sức mạnh của lòng yêu nước nồng nàn của người Việt được xây dựng qua hàng ngàn năm và sự kết tinh và tỏa sáng của sức mạnh nội tại của Việt Nam. Thắng lợi của Cách mạng Tháng Tám không chỉ góp phần độc lập dân tộc để trở thành các giá trị phổ biến trong thời đại mới nhưng cũng ushers một định hướng chính trị mới của thuộc địa và các quốc gia phụ thuộc để giành tự do và phấn đấu để xây dựng chủ nghĩa xã hội. Cách mạng tháng Tám đã phá vỡ một liên kết quan trọng và thúc đẩy sự tan rã không thể đảo ngược của hệ thống thuộc địa, góp phần đẩy nhanh sự tan rã và mở sự sụp đổ của hệ thống thuộc địa cũ đã tồn tại gần nửa thiên niên kỷ của lịch sử thế giới.
