Outline of the Thesis
This thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the research
background, research aim, research objectives and scope of this study. Chapter 2
compiles the literature reviews including general information regarding styrene, its
application in food packaging, and testing and legislation control of food packaging.
Chapter 3 describes the experimental set up and the procedures applied in this study
for testing of food packaging. Chapter 4 explains the development, validation and
application of the method for determination of VOCs in polystyrene food packaging.
Chapter 5 reports and discusses the results of SPME application to study the
migration of VOCs from polystyrene food packaging into water as food simulant.
The final chapter concludes the findings of this study and suggests areas for further
research.

Luận án này bao gồm sáu chương. Chương 1 giới thiệu các nghiên cứu
cơ bản, mục tiêu nghiên cứu, mục tiêu nghiên cứu và phạm vi nghiên cứu này. Chương 2
biên dịch các đánh giá văn học bao gồm các thông tin chung về styrene, nó
ứng dụng trong bao bì thực phẩm, kiểm tra và kiểm soát pháp luật của bao bì thực phẩm.
Chương 3 mô tả các thí nghiệm thiết lập và thủ tục áp dụng trong nghiên cứu này
để thử nghiệm các bao bì thực phẩm. Chương 4 giải thích sự phát triển, xác nhận và
áp dụng các phương pháp để xác định VOC trong bao bì thực phẩm polystyrene.
Chương 5 báo cáo và thảo luận về các kết quả áp dụng SPME để nghiên cứu sự
di cư của VOC từ bao bì thực phẩm polystyrene vào nước như simulant thực phẩm.
Chương cuối cùng kết luận những phát hiện của nghiên cứu này cho thấy khu vực và cho biết thêm
nghiên cứu.
