My full name is Nguyen Minh Duc and I am 18 years old. I just graduated high school few months ago. My parents was very worry about my study, they wish I would have the best education so we chose Swinburne University of Technology. We heard about Swinburne from a famous TV show called “The path to Olympia” when I was a child and studying at Swinburne has been my dream ever then. So after finishing my high school I decided to study English and go to Australia to study.

From my early age I’ve always been deeply interested in computing. It was my cousin who introduced me to computers, He taught me how to use and entertain with computer, since then it became our hobby. When I used computer in the past, I always wondered how computers worked, why they worked and what else they could do. Consequently, the Information Technology course stood out as something that I really want to learn. I would like to see people's enjoyment when using and entertaining with computer knowing that I took part in producing it. I have gained valuable experience of computers from daily life such as helping out at the local club where they have a computer room for people who want to learn how to use IT and to learn about new features of the computer. Swinburne is considered as one of the most famous university in terms of IT with industry-focused programs, state-of-the-art facility, and expert and caring teachers so it helps to strengthen and deepen my interest of studying at this university. The Information and Communication Technology is the combination of the two fields, and with this course, I will have more knowledge and skills from these two related fields, which ensure me to have competency over other candidates when applying for jobs after graduation. While I am aware that studying in a different country can be challenging but I have confidence in my adaptability skills even though my native language is not English. My aim is to become a computer programmer developing any type of software. Information and Telecommunication Technology is now playing a crucial role in my country economy; therefore I would like to contribute my effort to our development.
