One more contract for European scrap recorded at stable price in Turkey
World Steel News 9.9.2014
Contract prices for European scrap have been stable in Turkey.
Turkish market remains slow. No deals for import scrap are recorded at the beginning of the week, though Metal Expert has learnt details of the contract concluded in early-September. Another European exporter has expectedly finished scrap talks and sold 25,000 t of HMS 1&2 (75:25) from the Netherlands at $368/t CFR Turkey, 10,000 t of HMS 1 at $385/t CFR and 10,000 t of P&S grade at $390/t CFR. A supplier from Belgium sold HMS 1&2 (75:25) at similar price, so this level will probably be the initial price in talks this week. Turkish mills sourced scrap only from Europe, where exporters are the most flexible given the euro devaluation against the US dollar.
HMS 1&2 (80:20) from the US East Coast is still available at $386/t CFR Turkey.
