In 1957, a letter from the President of Quaker Oats helped source community support to start a college in Peterborough. In 1962, a stunning 100-acre campus at Symons came up due to the generous gift of land by General Electric. In the past 50 years Trent has grown to become one of Canada’s most renowned modern universities. Trent offers an excellent selection of undergraduate and graduate programs in subjects as varied as Anthropology, Computing, Chemistry, Economics and Sociology. Yann Martel the writer of ‘The Life of Pi’ fame is an alumnus of Trent University.
