Before arriving at location: z Schedule dates and times with department manager to ensure staf will be available. Schedule at least 2 hours for a start-up In-service. Include personnel from other departments who will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the V-PRO 60 Sterilizer. z Have instruments and representative loads identifed to be processed at the facility, i.e. general surgical instruments, cameras, light cables, batteries, etc as well as the packaging that will be used. z Using the Device Matrix and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Letters, work with the Central Service (CS) Man- ager to identify the appropriate processing cycle for each device. z Send the CS Manager the link to the Device Matrix for future reference. Encourage them to sign up for email updates to the Device Matrix. z Ensure the necessary supplies are present: a. VAPROX HC Sterilant within the expiration date. If the cup has already been installed during the installation of the unit, ensure it has not passed the in-use expiry date (14 days from being punctured). b. Chemical Indicators (CI) and Biological Indicators (BI) within expiry date, BI activator, incubator (set at 55-60° C), printer paper, and ink cartridge. c. Packaging materials: trays, wrap, containers, tape, indicator labels, record cards and pouches.
