Many instruments have been developed to assess the five factors in adults. Costa and McCrae’s (1985; 1992) NEO-PI-R is the most frequently used personality questionnaire to assessthe five factors in adults and college students. According to Costa, McCrae and Johnson (2002), this measure has been used widely in both normal and clinical populations for research, clinical, and organizational applications. An individual’s score on the NEO-PI-R reflects the motivations, tendencies, and capacities that characterize his or her ongoing interactions with the environment.
