Tropical rainforests in South America and in Africa are being cleared away for soil and to use the land for farming. In the last 30 years, more than 80% of Africa's Ivory Coast rainforests has been cut down. But the loss of trees is leading to droughts erosion, mud slides and soil. Many plants and animals no longer have a home and 48 species of plants and animals are wiped out every day.Another great threat to animals is rubbish as many animals are strangled or choke on plastic bags, since plastic is not biodegradable.
