Spores of S. hygroscopicus 5008 (Yu et al., 2005) were stored in
25% (w/v, the same as below) glycerol at 20 C. Before use, the
strain was grown on an agar plate containing 2% (w/v, the same as
below) soybean meal, 2% maltose, and 2% agar, and spores were collected
and suspended in 25% glycerol after cultivation for five days
at 30 C.
