This example implements the LMS algorithm as a C program. It illustrates the following steps for the adaptation process using the adaptive structure shown in Figure 6.2.
1. Obtain new samples of the desired signal d(n) and the reference input to the adaptive filter x(n). 2. Calculate the adaptiveFIR filter outputy(n), applyingEquation (6.4). 3. Calculate the instantaneouserror e(n)by applyingEquation(6.5). 4. Updatethecoefficient(weight)vectorwbyapplyingtheLMSalgorithm(6.18). 5. Shift the contents of the adaptive filter delay line, containing previous input samples, by one. 6. Repeat the adaptiveprocess at the next sampling instant.
