The central layer is called the uveal tract. Itforms the iris and ciliary body anteriorly and thechoroid posteriorly. The choroid is a vascularstructure. It supplies the optic nerve, the fovea(area of most acute vision) and the posteriortwo-thirds of the retina. The ciliary bodyproduces the aqueous humour. This transparentfluid lies behind the cornea and fills the anteriorchamber of the eye. The aqueous humourmoves through the pupil and drains througha trabecular meshwork at the acute angle ofthe anterior chamber. The lens sits behind thecornea and is suspended from ligaments of theciliary body.
