Employees safety and industrial accidents No industrial organization can take the subject of employee safety in a casual manner because frequent industrial accidents will result in decreased production and monetary loss due to adoption of compensatory measures imposed by law. All industrial accidents can hardly be ascribed to chance factor though such a possibility cannot be ruled out completely in every accident. Sometimes it is situational factor or there are individual factors which are responsible for accidents. An industrial accident may be an event which takes place foresight or expectation and results in some personal injury or damages to property. Accident is defined as " an occurrence in an industrial establishment causing bodily injury to a person which makes him unfit to resume his duties in the next 48 hours" . To be considered as an accident it must take place in the course of employment in an industrial establishment.
