Tuan: Good morning. My name is Tuan and this is Viet Anh and Viet. Today we’re going to have presentation about Association of Southeast Asian Nations whose short name is ASEAN. We will divide our presentation into 3 parts :History,Development and Future.
Tuan : The first part belongs to Viet.
Viet: ASEAN is political and economic organisation of ten Southeast Asian countries. It was formed on 8 August 1967 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Brunei became its sixth member on 7 January 1984. On 28 July 1995, Vietnam became ASEAN's seventh member.[18] Laos and Myanmar (Burma) joined two years later on 23 July 1997.[19] Cambodia was to have joined together with Laos and Burma, but entry was delayed due to the country's internal political struggle. The country later joined on 30 April 1999, following the stabilisation of its government. Its aims include accelerating economic growth, social progress, and sociocultural evolution among its members, protection of regional peace and stability, and opportunities for member countries to resolve differences peacefully.
Viet: Next,Tuan is going to introduce about the ASEAN’s development.

Tuan: The ASEAN Community is a place where all the ten countries come together to build a better life for everyone. Together as ten,we can do more than one country alone. The ASEAN Community is growing stronger thanks to 3 aspects: PEACE,PROSPERITY and PEOPLE.I will tell you about PEACE and PROSPERITY.First,all ten country needs to work together to keep the region safe from terriorists,drugs,pirates which come to ruin our country. Whenever a stranger disease break out,each nations will have some solution to handle it.Should there arise some territory problem,ASEAN will show their voice about it and make sure everything will be alright.Our country don’t fight each other besides we cover others to develop and live in peace. They also have military to defend against allhostile forces.Secondly,about the prosperity we can enjoy the good things that come with stronger economic development. As we attract more and more investors,business will grow and there will be more jobs and opportunities. You will be able to work in any Asian country and find your favorite job such as doc tor,actor,layer,…. With the development of Asian prosperity means we will have our life quality improve. And as a good neighbor we will help one another prosper.I think these two is very important.


Viet Anh: Tuan is rightbut I think the most important one is PEOPLE.InVietnamese,there is an idiom :” Richer people,bettercountry”.The ASEAN work hard to ensure the people can enjoy a better life. They do that by keeping our environtment clean and green,helping one another when a disaster strikes,working together to fight against nasty diseases. And you’re never too young to become part of this community. You can start with simple things,make friend with other Asian people and learn another Asian language if you can. You can be proud of your identity as a ASEAN citizen.In the near future, the ASEAN countries or our own country , will become a strong and prosperous country.So what can we do for it to make it better? The answer is very simple,the young can make relationships with international friends. We also can preserve the country's culture and promote the country in the region.
