Governments often do not feel easy

Governments often do not feel easy to decide a policy or set up a project because their deciments usually can not fit everyone and using sport budget is no exception. Many people have the idea that governments should spend sport money for ordinary people, however there are also a sizable percentage of people who think that it is better to invest in excellent athlestes. I personally have my own oppinion which I will state in this essay.
There is no double about the huge advantages of encouraging ordinary people doing sports such as prevent diseases, strengthen co-operative spirit, try hard, etc. In a country, if people love doing sports the population will be healthier, the number of people become overweight and have other disease like diabetes will be smaller. Moreover, taking part in sports activities, particularly team games, can help children learn to be more co-operative, more strong after lose, so that they can grow up with the development of both mind and body. Finally, governments should spend money on general population to reduce levels of health problems because “prevent is better than cure”.
Nevertheless, we cannot deny that spending money to help top athletes win has its own strong points. Firstly, the winning of an excellent athlete or a team can make people proud of their country and become more believe in the governments. Secondly, famous athletes make their country also famous. This lead to a good affect on the development of tourism and even economy of their country. Thirdly, famous sport people can be a good role models for the population in general and the young in particular. Perhaps, they will go on to become successful athletes themselves.
From my own perspective, governments should spend sport budget on both ordinary people and top athletes because one country will only become strong when its population are healthy, believe in governments and proud of their nation.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that governments should be wise when make decision about spending money on sports. That decision must care both ordinary people and excellent athletes in order to make the country stronger.
