To encourage pretend play in young children and, particularly, with intellectual disability

competencies in different developmental area (linguistic, cognitive, social, emotional), that are
themselves favourable to self-regulation. This kind of amusing and familiar environment seems
to improve learning (Bjorklund, 1978) and to allow children to express their abilities whatever is
best. Self-regulation development is necessary for a successful involvement in a lot of activities.
Preschool period is the one during which self-regulation abilities really develop and
consequently, seems the right moment to stimulate this growth.
