I am Lee Donghae.. and I have a lot of friends.. one of them is Kwon Yuri.. she's not just my friends.. she's my bestfriends and my childhood friends too.. we both grew up together.. we've been friends since elementary school.. and we're getting to school and back home together.. since a little kid, she knows most of my secret but one.. one thing that she doesn't know and doesn't realize.. I'm in love with her since junior high, since she made me that bracelet as my birthday give.. but she never know, I never have the courage to tell her.. why?? coz she is the angel of this school.. everyone adore her for her kindness, for her beauty and many other things.. so, I'm afraid..




but today, on our last valentine's day in senior high, I decided to let go of this fear and tell her everything.. and as usual, I'm waiting for her at the parking lot to take her home and she's in the library now, looking for something.. half of hour waiting makes me really nervous, so I take out my cell and dial her number.. just then someone call me.. Yuri..




"yah.. Kwon Yuri.. eodiissneungeoya??",. I yelled at her..




"ah.. Donghae-ah.. don't yell like that.. I'm so happy right now.. guest what's happening just now??", she ask me back with a happy voice..




"I don't know.. one thing I know, if you're not here in 5 minutes, I'll leave without you.. I'm really hungry you know..", I replied..




"It's okay you can go home first.. I'll be home with Kibummie.. he just told me that he likes me and ask me to be his girlfriend.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh", suddenly she yelles so loud, but I can't even move an inch.. "I'm so happy.. okay.. see you tomorrow..", I can't even say anything when she hang up on me..

Donghae and Yuri still bestfriend but not like it used to.. time passed by so quickly, and know both Yuri and Donghae almost finished they're high school..

~The Farewell Party / Prom~




"there she is, just coming with her playboy boyfriend..", Jessica exclaimed when Yuri and Kibum get into the room..




"playboy??", I asked her, confused..




"you don't know??", she asked me back in wonder..




"about what??", I asked her back..




"someone saw Kibum kiss another girl just after the test yesterday..", she told me the begining..




"jeongmal??", I can't believe it...




Jessica just nod with such an enthusiasthic, and continue with her story about that incident, but I can only see Yuri towed by that jerk..




after a while, everyone getting really full and start to fill the dance floor, but I'm just daydreaming.. "hey you.. don't you want to dance with me??", Jessica asked bluntly, she's a little bit drunk.. I could only smile to see her like this..




"shall we??", asked me while I held out my hand..




we dance till dizzy.. suddenly someone bump unto me.. Yuri.. and her face full with tears..




"yah Yuri.. wae geurae??", I asked her in panic.. "I'm fine..", she answer me fast and make her way to the exit door.. when Yuri finally out of my sight, Kibum shows up.. and innocently ask me, "do you see Yuri??"..




my anger just burst out and my fist that clenched since I hear out the story just landed on his jerk face.. and all of a sudden both of us already on the floor, trying to punch each other.. everyone trying to separate us.. when we finally separated, Yuri shows up again.. after slap Kibum face twice, she take my hands and out of the room..




both of us just sit in front of a minimarket.. with cotton and water, Yuri tries to clean my 'beat up face' which is filled with blood.. when she try to speak, I just realized, that she is crying..




"hey what's up pearl??", she smile when I call her with her nickname.. "I just want to cry Hae.. it take me more than 6 months to know that Kibum is not in love with me.. he said that I'm boring..", I'm really shock to hear her confession..




after she clean up my face.. we both just going for a walk around for 2 hours.. and everything come back to normal, except for one thing..




"Hae-ah.. what you gonna do next week??", Yuri asked me when we are on our way to the bowling place with Yesung, Eunhyuk, Hyoyeon and Jessica..


"dunno.. why??", I lie again.. I know what I gonna be next week.. but till now, I have no courage to tell Yuri everything.. she's so fragile lately and I don't want to hear her cry again.. It's hurt my hearts more than anything..




"how about going to the beach.. just both of us.. eotteo??", she asked again..




"we'll see..", I replied..




the next two days I spent with her on the beach.. she looks so happy.. and finally.. that day finally comes, the day of my departure..




early in the morning, I pick Yuri and take her out for breakfast and lunch.. after shopping hard, I take her to the airport.. she's so confuse.. "I want to have dinner here with you..", I told her when she just about to ask.. she just nod although she looks very worried and confuse..




when we finish our dinner, our friend Yesung, Eunhyuk, Jessica and Hyoyeon shows up.. Yuri looks so worried.. "Lee Donghae.. what's wrong??", she asked me again, but this time with tears almost flows down from her eyes..




I take her hand and take her where no one can hear us.. "hey pearl.. I'm really sorry that I'm not telling you this earlier.. but you so busy with final exam and Kibum.. and when you broke up, you look so fragile that I can't even say the word..", she looks so confused.. "I got the scholarship that I really wanted.. I'm going to collage in London, my dream city.. I'm so sorry that I just happened to told you now.. jeongmal mianhe..", I'm really sorry but looks like she's gonna faint, I'm so worry..




after a long silence, she smile, more like trying hard to smile.. "it's okay my fish.. gwenchana.. jeongmal.. when will your plane take off??", she asked me..




~Yuri POV~




after a long silence, I try to smile, I hope it looks like smile.. "it's okay my fish.. gwenchana.. jeongmal.. when will your plane take off??", I asked him..




Donghae looks seriously worried about me.. "2 hours again.. wae??", he asked me back..




"then.. you ready?? is everything ready??", I asked him again.. he just nod..




when his about to get in, everyone hugs him but me.. I'm really trying to be strong.. and I'm the last..




"you sure you gonna be okay??", he asked me while I rest my head on his chest.. I just nod, but I can't stop the tears that flows hard out of my eyes..




"I'm okay..", I said while I clean up my face and smile to him.. he smile back to me..

this time, they really separated for a couple of years because of Donghae scholarship.. but not for long.. not even a year after Donghae went to London, he's coming back.. on Valentine's day.. try to get her heart once again.. he just come back to Seoul and looking for Yuri..

"hai my pearl.. how are you??", I call her a while ago..




"Haeeeeeee.. I'm fine how about you??", she asked back..




"real nice.. where are you know??", I asked..




"on my way to college.. how about you??", she asked again..




"same here.. see you pearl.. I need to go now.. bye..", I told her and hang up immediately..




"college huh??", soon as I know where she is, I drive my motorbike to her college.. Hyoyeon already wait for me there, she's the only one who knows that I'm here, she is my fave cousin after all..




"hey.. welcome back ahjussi..", not really cousin.. she's my niece.. and she love to mock me about it.. "kamsahamnida Kim agassi..", I just give her my worst smile..




"hey, what's up with this beautiful flower??", she asked in curious..




"it's for my pea..", just then, when I answer her, Yuri pass us by, hand in hand with Yesung.. Hyoyeon just understand the situation when she grab the flower and throw it to the garbage.. and suddenly she jump to the back of my motorbike, "come on.. we're going somewhere I can tell you everything and you can yell as much as you want.."

we both going to our fave hangout place when we still in highschool.. Hyo doesn't need to say anything, I can see what is going on.. but..

"mianhe ahjussi.. if I know you coming back just for her, I'll tell you everything on the phone when you tell me you wanna be here for valentine.. I'm really sorry..", I can see that she's really sorry.. but I just can't accept everything..

and I hold my mouth when I ask, "what is going on exactly?? why I never know about this??"

"coz Kibum still after her, when Eunhyuk try help Yuri a couple of month ago, Eunhyuk oppa got beat up by Kibum friends.. that's why they're not going to and maybe never gonna public they're relationship..", Hyoyeon try explain, but I still can't accept it..

~3 years later - After College Graduation~

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhjjjjjjuuuuuuuuuuuussssssssiiiiiii.. chukae.. I'm so proud of you..", Hyoyeon yell to me from my laptop, via skype..

"thanks ugly niece.. how's everybody there?? everything okay??", I ask again with a bright smile..

"we're all fine.. and I have a very good news for you.. by the way, when will you come back to Korea??", Yuri came up on the camera and answer my question..

"dunno.. I still have a lot of things to do here, you know.. so what's the big news??", I ask again, so curious..

suddenly, Yuri grab Yesung arm and say it with a very big smile.. "FISH.. WE'RE GETTING MARRIED IN A MONTH.. so you.. better come home soon.. coz you have to be there when I say I DO..", she yell's so loud and make me shock, especially with the big news she had..

"hey fish.. you still there?? why you not answer me??", she ask me..

"in a month?? sorry pearls, I can't be there.. I still need two or three months to be back to Korea.. I still have a lot of things to do here..", I say still in shocks.. "but congratulation.. I hope you both happy.. really.. hey.. I have to go.. see you..", I'm not wait
