There were nine (20%) central and 36 (80%) peripheral tumors. Tumor stages were as follows: 35 (78%) stage IA, seven (16%) stage IB, and three (7%) stage IIIB tumors. Thirty (67%) patients underwent no radiation therapy in proximity to RF ablation. Ten (22%) patients underwent external beam radiation, and five (11 %) patients underwent brachytherapy. Evidence of any type of recurrence at follow-up imaging was seen in 34 (43%) of 79 tumors. There were 16 (47%) men and 18 (53%) women with recurrence. Mean patient age for this group was 75 years (range, 59–91 years), and mean tumor size was 2.6 cm (range, 1–5.5 cm). The mean time from treatment to diagnosis at follow-up imaging was 14 months (range, 2–48 months). There were six (18%) central and 28 (82%) peripheral tumors.
