Tomorrowland is one of the biggest electronic music festivals held in the world, taking place yearly in Boom, Belgium. It is operated by the ID&T Company. The festival has been organized since 2005. Tomorrowland has since become one of the most notable global music festivals whose tickets are often sold out at a surprisingly fast speed. (*)We’ll take a closer look at the history of this exciting festival.(*)Its first edition took place on August 14th, 2005.(*) In 2008, the festival took place on July 26 and 27. For the first time, more than 100 DJs participated. The number of visitors exceeded 50,000 for the first time.(*) Tomorrowland 2013 took place on July 26–28 and reached 180,000 attendees. Full Madness passes sold out in 35 minutes, and the remainder of tickets sold out in a reported one second. Tomorrowland also offered its Global Journey packages and Brussels Airlines had 140 additional flights from 67 different cities around the world to get festival goers with 214 different nationalities to Boom, Belgium.(*)To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival, and to meet the high demand for tickets, the 2014 edition of Tomorrowland was held over two weekends; 18–20 July and 25–27 July. In April 2014, MTV announced that it would produce two hour-long MTV World Stage specials featuring performances from the festival (to be aired in August 2014), and that it would produce a documentary surrounding the 10th anniversary of Tomorrowland. 360,000 people have attended Tomorrowland 2014.(*) Tomorrowland 2015 has taken place on 24-26 July 2015 and has followed the first chapter of the new theme Melodia
(*)In March 20, 2013, ID&T Belgium and SFX Entertainment announced that it would begin organizing an American spin-off of Tomorrowland, known as TomorrowWorld The site where it takes place was specifically chosen due to its resemblance to the Boom location in which Tomorrowland is traditionally held.
(*) The festival itself is an exciting event, isn’t it? Yet, what we concern most is of course, ticket prices
1. It is important to note that first, you must be at least 18 years old to attend the festival and second, purchasing Tomorrowland tickets itself does not give you access to Dreamville, which is its official campsite for festival goers, therefore I will talk about these two categories seperatedly.
When it comes to Tomorrowland tickets (*), you can buy one for a certain day individually or purchase one for the whole festival, which is called “Full Madness”. For one day only, the prices are € 98 and € 190 for Regular and Comfort respectively. For “Full Madness”, Regular tickets cost € 272,50 and Comfort ones cost € 496,00
(*) Dreamville packages offer people with accomodation and facilities to a certain extent while they’re staying for the festival depending on what types they pick. Tickets may be issued per person or a couple of two. Prices start from € 347,50 for Regular and €571,00 for Comfort. The more facilities one category provides, the more expensive it is.
(*) Also, when purchasing tickets, buyers will receive special little gifts from the festival. Boxes containing Tomorrowland bracelets and keys for Treasure Cases, which are also included in the parcels, will be sent to their houses. Good news, they are parts of the most significant and unique features of this festival, and bad news, you’ll have to pay for them and the shipping costs seperatedly from tickets prices.
To recap briefly, Tomorrowland is clear to be one of the most exciting electronic music festivals in the world and its reputation has spread worldwide. It deserves to be added to anyone’s must-go list, and it is also a place where people can enjoy the music together regardless of races, genders, etc and get rid of their daily pressure. To end my presentation, I would love to deliver to you Tomorrowland’s meaningful slogan : “Yesterday is history – Today is a gift- Tomorrow is mystery”
Thank you for your attention.
