PART I: STATEMENT ON CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE WORKS
I- GENERAL CONSTRUCTION METHOD
I.1. Temporary construction.
1. Temporary road to construction site.
a. Thap Cham Bridge:
- Thap Cham Bridge is at Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, Binh Thuan Province. The bridge is located near provincial road 703 of 8m width. The construction site is near provincial road 703, all material and equipments will be transported through this road to the site. Embankment material will be transported by truck through road 703 to the site. Rail, sub – ballast, ballast and sleeper will be transported by train to the site and unloaded to the location selected by the Contractor.
- The Contractor builds a temporary road at upstream side of A2 abutment from crossing road Km1408+931.10 to construction yard no. 2 to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 180m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 50cm placed on natural ground.
b. Song Quao Bridge:
- Song Quao Bridge is at Ninh Phuoc District of Binh Thuan Province. The bridge is located near provincial road 703 of 8m width. The construction site is near provincial road 703, all material and equipments will be transported through this road to the site. Embankment material will be transported by truck through road 703 to the site. Rail, sub – ballast, ballast and sleeper will be transported by train to the site and unloaded to the location selected by the Contractor.
- The Contractor builds a temporary road at upstream side of A1 abutment from Km1412+134.12 to KM1412+455.72 to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 321.60m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 25-45cm placed on natural ground.
c. Song Long Song Lon Bridge:
- Song Long Song Lon Bridge is at Tuy Phong District of Binh Thuan Province. Site access to the site can not be opened due to the local road is not allowed for heavy duty truck and difficulties for the construction of site access (due to large volume of site clearance, long path from the site access to local road, residential area). The contractor shall hire Vietnam Railways for the transportation of equipment and materials to the site. Rail, sub ballast, ballast and sleepers will be transported from the quarries and supplier to the site by train hired from Vietnam Railways and unloaded to the place selected by the Contractor.
- The Contractor builds a temporary road at downstream side from A1 abutment to A2 abutment to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 321.60m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 25-45cm placed on natural ground.
d. Song Long Song Nho Bridge:
- The Contractor builds a temporary road at downstream side from A2 abutment to A1 abutment and connect to temporary road of Song Long Song Lon to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 321.60m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 25-45cm placed on natural ground.
e. Song Luy Bridge:
- The Contractor builds a temporary road from crossing road KM1506+258 to A2 abutment to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 350m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 40-90cm placed on natural ground.
f. Muong Man Bridge:
- The Contractor builds 2 temporary roads from 2 construction yards to A1, A2 abutment to transport machine and equipment. Temporary roads with a total length L = 53m, wide B = 4 m.
- The structure of temporary road from the top down as follows: Surface layer is crushed stone with thickness 20cm, roadbed is K90 soil with thickness 40-90cm placed on natural ground.
2. Temporary structure for substructure construction in the deepwater area
- All bridges under the construction package CP3C locate at the wading river only drain water in flood season. So relating to the construction method of substructure for all bridges, it is necessary to construct a temporary access road to the construction site, combined with making floating island to transport equipment and facilities to the site.
- Temporary access road and construction floating island: elevation of temporary access road and floating island shall be 0.5m higher than the water level. Temporary road shall be of 4m wide, 1:1.5 slopes. Temporary road structure shall be as follow: embank roadbed, spread macadam of 20cm thick layer on the surface (refer for the details in attached drawings for each bridge)
- Construction method: construction work shall be constructed with encroachment embankment method.
Determine track centerline by measuring machine. Transport soil to construction site by truck and unload in stack. Use bulldozer to grade soil and encroach the bank. Tamp the embankment to designed compactness by compactor. Temporary access road shall be constructed at the same time with temporary culvert for water flow and drainage during the construction.
3. Temporary structure for superstructure construction
3.1. Staging for new girder installation
Description: Staging for girder installation includes steel spans on temporary piers of driven foundation pile or shallow foundation. Piers shall be connected byangle steel L100x100, refined bolt and welded seam, stringer and cross beam by I shaped steel. Rail shall behandled in perpendicular to the stringer at distance 3m on the stringer. Pave staging with 5cm thickwood shingle. For girders installed on assembly stand, staging shall be of designed width to place and transport girder (attached file)
