➀ The AC Series accumulator is designed with high strength, compact, rugged steel shell and cap material. The steel shell allows heat to dissipate effectively and is micro-finished for extended seal life. Although these accumulators are offered instandard capacities, the steel shell design affords an easyway to "custom" manufacture an accumulator to meet the exact capacity for any customer application.➁The lightweight piston design allows for fast response to reduce system shock in rapid cycling applications.2a. Sizes 50 mm (2"), 80 mm (3"), and 100 mm (4"), utilize a piston seal consisting of a unique, patented five- bladedV-O-ring with back-up washers. This design eliminates seal roll-over and ensures total separation of fluid and gas under the most severe operating conditions. The 40 mm (1.5") size utilizes a specially designed piston seal incorporating a T-seal with an energized PTFE piston ring.2b. PTFE glide rings eliminate metal to-metal contact between the tube and piston, reducing wear and extending service life. Both piston seal designs hold full pressure throughout long idle periods between cycles, providing dependable, full pressure storage of hydraulic energy. Piston seal designs preventsudden failure of the accumulator, ensuringsafety and greater uptime reliability. ➂ The patent pending swaged design offers a high strength coupling of the gas and hydraulic caps to the steel tube. This type of connection offers superior fatigue life compared to welded type connections. The strength of this connection provides for a 275 Bar (4,000 PSI) working pressure rating on sizes 50mm, 80mm, and 100mm, as well as enabling the accumulator to pass a stringent internal fatigue test that follows industry accepted standards. A working pressure rating of 260 Bar (3,800 PSI) is available on the 40mm size. Because of the swaged connection design, the ACP Series accumulator is non-repairable.➃ All accumulators are fitted with a gas valve for ease of gas pre-charging. The gas valve assembly uses a "Schrader" style gas valve cartridge (ISO-4570-8V1).As an option, accumulators can be supplied in a precharged condition with a special designed threaded plug in lieu of a gas valve (4a).The plug allows for removalof the pre-charge providing for safe disposal. Accumulators supplied without gas valves cannot be pre-charged bythe customer.➄ The gas valve cap reduces the risk of damage to the gas valve from external impact, while serving as a secondary seal for the gas valve. The knurled capdesign allows for ease of installation without the use of tools.➅ Port types are available in a wide range of female sizes in both SAE and BSPP styles. Male ports are also available in the 40 mm (1.5") and 50 mm (2") sizes (6a).➆ Spanner holes are furnished on all sizes to allow for ease of installation onto hydraulic manifolds, or into restrictive mounting areas.
