The exclusion criteria
were as follows: Type 1 or type 2 DM, secondary hypertension,
history of hypersensitivity to ARBs/BB, one or both sided
renal artery stenosis, acute or chronic renal failure, serum
creatinine ≥2.5 mg/dl, serum potassium >5.5 mEq/l, patients
who are known case of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
or bronchial asthma, smokers, patients with significant
electrocardiogram abnormality, significant cardiovascular
disease, history of hypertensive encephalopathy/stroke/
transient ischemic attack (TIA) within last 6 months, pregnant/
lactating women, or women intending for pregnancy.

Các tiêu chuẩn loại trừnhư sau: loại 1 và loại 2 DM, tăng huyết áp thứ cấp,lịch sử của quá mẫn cảm với ARBs/BB, một hoặc cả hai mặthẹp động mạch thận, suy thận cấp tính hoặc mãn tính, huyết thanhcreatinine ≥2.5 mg/dl, kali huyết thanh > 5,5 mEq/l, bệnh nhânnhững người được biết trường hợp của bệnh phổi tắc nghẽn mãn tínhhoặc bronchial bệnh hen suyễn, người hút thuốc lá, bệnh nhân đáng kểelectrocardiogram bất thường đáng kể tim mạchbệnh, lịch sử của hypertensive điên/stroke /tấn công thiếu máu cục bộ thoáng qua (TIA) trong vòng 6 tháng qua, mang thai /cho con bú phụ nữ, hay phụ nữ có ý định cho thai.
