general senses organs are specialized with localized receptors found in almost every area of the body
They are classified as follows:
Nociceptors: monitor tissue damage
Thermoreceptors: monitor temperature found in skin , muscle, liver, and hypothalamus
Mechanoreceptors : monitors contact and pressure , found mostly in the skin
Chemoreceptors : monitor chemical composition of body fluids ( o2, co2, Ph...)
Baroreceptors: subset of mechanoreceptors


Special senses : are characterized by large and complex organs, each with a unique functions of sight , hearing , balance , taste and smell
