The environmental and technical specialists reviewed the DMMP of Bunxang lake construction package (CT 2.4) and conducted field visit to the proposed disposal sites for excavated materials at TanPhu and ThoiAnDong wards. It is noted from the environmental quality monitoring that the sludge was not hazardous and therefore could be used for land filling instead of disposing at CaiSau landfill. The task team found the proposal of CanTho PPMU acceptable. In addition, it is requested that the CanTho PPMU report to DONRE to get the acceptance/approval on the change of sludge disposal site following national regulations. In addition, the task team found the DMMP and proposed sludge disposal sites basically acceptable. However, the DMMP should be further enhanced regarding that it should clearly describe the dredging and transportation methods as well as the design of temporary disposal cells. It is requested that the CanTho PPMU send to the bank the revised DMMP by October 15, 2016 for reviewing.
