The effluent from the TW system was collected in buckets
placed underneath the columns. The effluent samples were taken
fortnightly after third feeding in the feeding cycle. The exception to
this routine was on day 2 of the experiment when additional
samples were taken after fourth feeding in the first week of the
experiment. The influent samples were withdrawn from plastic
barrels in which the three types of influents were prepared. All the
samples were filtered using qualitative filter paper (MN 615 filter
for medium fast filtration, Macherey-Nagel GmbH & Co. KG, Germany) prior to analysis
