Dear my most respectful teacher,
When I was still at high school, I had a desire that if I could enter the university, I would write a story about my most respectful teacher to show my thankfulness to you. But I found it was a challenge when I could not show all of my thought. Then I decided to delay it to the time when I would graduate from university. One more time, no word can indicate my thoughts. Again, I changed my mind, I would write to you on the day when I got my fist salary from a high-school where I work as an English teacher. However, I am unemployed and have some feelings of disappointed and I do not know if I have enough encourage to visit you on this coming Tet Holiday.
Finally, after thinking a lot, I decide to write this piece of letter. I realized that forever no words can present my thought so just indicate my present feelings.
You know, you are not the best teacher in my student life but the most respectful one. I have to concede that I often felt asleep in your lessons and somehow not concentrated. But it’s the way you encouraged us that made me decide to choose English as my major in the future. I have not told you that at secondary school English was really a nightmare for me. It’s you that somehow changed my mind or at least helped me overcome the scare in English lessons. It’s your words – “try your best. I believe you can” that was the energy medicine to help me make friends with English. I realize that the most important duty of teaching is encourage students’ love to learn not force them to finish the boring tasks with no desire to study from inside. I would never forget the image of my dear teacher came to visit and refresh the concern of his student who was in serious illness before her exam for the best English students the following day. That was enough for me to remind myself to try my best. I whispered to myself that the result would be for you not for me.
The time I had finished the exam to enter university, I was so worried that I didn’t dare to come to visit you when I had not known the result. And when surely I knew that I was success, the first one I thought about was no one else but you. I still remember clearly your pleasant face when I announced that I passed with the high mark. The happiness in your eyes even made me happier than the result did.
I just want to emphasize my thankfulness to all of the lessons you taught me, both moral and knowledge ones. You make me believe that my choice to become a teacher is never blunder. Anytime got disappointed in my work I would remember your lessons as power to continue.
