For hermiticaly sealed transformer type, cooling equipment and compartments subject to operation pressures shall be designed per ANSI C57.12.10 offering a minimum of 15 psi seal tank construction. The tanks are designed to withstand a pressure of 25% greater than the maximum operating pressure. Tank seams shall be continuously welded using an automatic seam welder, welded corners are unacceptable. The maximum withstand pressure shall be indicated on the nameplate.
Before painting, outer surfaces of the tank shall be sand blasted in accordance with international standards. At spray painting, minimum thickness is 140µm for three coats. Paint color shall be cement gray for tank.
