This studyseekstoinvestigatethegrowthperformance,intestinalmorphology,carcasstraits andapparentnutrientdigestibilityofbroilerchickensfedwithdry,wetandfermented-wetfeed.Threeexperimentaldietswereformulatedinthisstudy.Diet1wasdry mashfeed.Diet2waswetmashfeedina1:1.3mixwithwater.Diet3,wasfermented-wet mashfeedina1:1.3mixwithwaterwhichwasfermentedfor24hinsealedplasticpolythene bagspriortofeeding.Atotalof192two-weeks-oldbroilers(Marshalstrain)wererandomlyassignedtotheexperimentaldietsinacompletelyrandomizeddesign(CRD).Eachtreatmentgroupwasreplicatedfourtimeswith16birdsperreplicate.Eachdietarytreatmentwasfedimmediatelytothebirdsafterre-constitution.Fermentationofthe feedreduced(Po0.05) thepHfrom6.61to4.37.Birdsfedfermented-wetandwetmash recordedhigher(Po0.05) finalliveweightandweightgain.Feedintakeandfeedconversionratiowerenotaffected(P40.05)bywetandfermented-wetfedbirdscomparedtothedryfedbirds.Mortalitywasnotaffectedbydietarytreatmentimposed.Apparentorganicmatterdigestibilitywashigher(Po0.05) inbirdsfedfermented-wetfeed whencomparedtobirdsfedwithdryandwetfeed.Intestinalvillusmorphologyandcarcass measurementwerenotaffected(P40.05) bythetreatmentimposed.However,birds fedwetfeedshowedlower(Po0.05)gizzardweightwhencomparedtobirdsfedfermented-wetfeed.Birdsfedwithfermented-wetmashrecordedhigher(Po0.05)abdominalfatthanthosefedwithdrymash.Theresultsofthisstudyindicatedfermented-wetfeedingimprovedapparentorganicmatterdigestibilitywitharesultantimprovedgrowthperformanceofbroilerchicken.& 2015ElsevierB
