Hello Stuart, Hopefully this email finds you well. Firstly, I would apologize for not able to join the meeting with Clark & KMV during Sep 21 while you were traveling to Vietnam, I actually had to travel to Cambodia during Sep 20-23 for BFC meeting and various factory visits there. We had another follow-up meeting with KMV yesterday (October 12) especially the Service Provider – Life Vietnam also attended to present in details to KMV on how the HERproject will kick off as well the importance of necessary engagements from Clark, NB & KMV. The meeting went well and we discussed over different difficulties from each parties so that we finally bring out below recap for our further thoughts: . Sample size with 2,000 KMV workers from 50% Clark & 50% NB workforce (instead of Clarks & NB will separately pick 2,000 workers from KMV) . Total cost: $US 7,500 so that cost can be shared as Clark ($US 2,500); NB ($US 2,500) and KMV ($US 2,500). Reasons that we all consider with this option: . KMV clarified that the factory actually has been with another similar project calls as MSI (“Advancing social and economic empowerment of female migrant workers through development and implementation of gender-sensitive initiatives in Binh Duong and Dong Nai Provinces, Viet Nam”) and it is still going on until end of this year. The KMV top management really likes have the HERproject happened by this occasion so that KMV could maintain the PHE (Peer Health Educator) at their factory to further train up other female workers on health matters. However they concerns if KMV should join 2 separate projects with Clark (2,000 workers) & NB (2,000 workers) that could impact to their production as a big number of their workforce needed to attend the training during 14 months of the project. They would consider to pilot this project with 2 brands jointly support which will save time/cost/workforce etc.
. New Balance: Since Tracy reached out me early this year for this collaboration, I felt interesting with this project and expect that we could work together to monitor and support Kingmaker on the female’s project. If we slip out separate with 2,000 workers per one full project for each of us meaning that we will disconnect for this collaboration and I don’t want too. New Balance would take this chance to learn from Clarks through this project so that I could see whether we will have any potential collaboration in the future.
. Life Vietnam (Service Provider): they also recommend us to start this first project at KMV with this option due to they have been occupied with more than 25 factories and they are worry if we have 2 separate projects for them in a same time. The idea with 3,000 workers (2,000 from Clark’s and 1,000 from NB’s workforce) was brought which is also not workable as pop-up professional fee will be increased from Life Trainers, timeline will need to be extended etc. and Life Vietnam does not agree with this.
. Tracy also agrees with this option so that both Clarks and NB could jointly monitor the progress at KMV more efficiency. I believe she will further clarify more with you on what we have discussed yesterday with KMV management.
