Los Angeles Christmas
Los Angeles is known for its mild sunny weather, especially during the Christmas season. And like a Hollywood blockbuster, many residents and visitors are wowed by the show of holiday decorations and lights around the city.
From the sounds of a live band playing Christmas music, to the figures of reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh in the air, to hundreds of lights on trees, Christmas for many people seems a little brighter, more colorful and entertaining in southern California.
From Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, to The Grove in Los Angeles, these shopping and tourist hot spots have been transformed into a wonderland of lights where visitors can indulge their senses in everything that is iconically Christmas. There is even a double decker trolley, with dancers at the bottom and a snowman and the gingerbread man on top. Visitors to The Grove say it feels like an amusement park.
And fun for many children means visiting Santa Claus for a picture and telling him what they would like for Christmas. Another big attraction at the Grove, a white fir tree that’s more than 30 meters tall. On the tree are more than 10,000 handmade ornaments. For visitors from outside the U.S. what makes Christmas in L.A. unique goes beyond the holiday attractions.
Many tourists say the mild weather here is what makes their trip enjoyable.
For many visitors, young and old, their Christmas in L.A. is one that will be hard to forget.
