65TH Cannes Film Festival11 MAY 2012AFP video production is extending its resources: 300 HD videos in Arabic, English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish will be produced. Featuring the famous walkway up the steps or behind the scenes, the festival will be in the spotlight each day through four to six videos of one to three minutes’ duration in all media types (web, TV and mobile platforms). Particular attention will be paid to Brazil, the guest country and participant. Exclusive interviews with directors and actors, extracts from trailers and film press conferences will also be featured.Innovation: on 27 May, the AFP will broadcast live immediately after the prize-winners have been announced. Winners will walk on a suspended gangway above the Croisette, which will afford an opportunity to hear their first impressions and review with them all the competing films and the 2012 Festival. A Live Report the same evening will be released in English, French and Spanish on the websites of clients subscribing to the Online News. The multimedia product will include text, photos, graphics and links to the AFP live video feed.The Culture/Entertainment sections of the Online News in three languages along with Video Galleries, the Photo Gallery and the France section of the French-speaking Online News will focus primarily on Cannes from 16 to 27 May. At the same time, ten text media journalists will cover the key moments at Cannes and offer an insight on event news: hot favourites for the Palme d’Or, films and celebrities at the 65th festival, major events taking place each day, etc. Some 15 stories in French and over 20 in English and Spanish will be released each day. Three photo-journalists will be on site to share the atmosphere of the festival and produce the finest images: the red carpet, photo calls, press conferences and theGrand Journal studio…Over 6,500 images will be shared including several hundred images at the opening and closing ceremonies. Graphics illustrating the festival, films in competition and winners will also be available. The AFP will also be on social networks. The AFP Twitter account will provide the latest news until the event ends on 27 May with major and minor events at the world’s No. 1 cinema event (@AFP). The AFP is also teaming up with the Cannes city authorities for the 10thmonumental exhibition – “Cannes fait le mur”. Seventeen photographs of stars taken by the agency photographers will be gracing the city’s walls and the sky over rue d’Antibes from 16 May to 30 June 2012. “The AFP is the world’s leading cultural news agency.
