Vietnam is a developing country. In the wake of Doi moi (renovation) and the economicliberalisation of Vietnam, a land reform was initiated with the Land law of 1987. The lawessentially paved the way for the de-collectivisation of agricultural production, definingindividual households rather than cooperatives as the basic agricultural production unit. TheLand law was revised in 1993, 1998, 2001 and ultimately 2003.
