and
a site,
respectively.
From
a SharePoint
perspective,
a website
(SPWeb)
is
just
a child
of
a
collection
of one
or
more
sites
(SPSite).
As
you
will
see
later
in this
chapter,
these
classes
are
the

basis
for
many
typical
operations
in your
solutions.
Every
time
you
need
to access
the
content
of
a
SharePoint
site,
you
will
need
to reference
its
parent
SPSite
object
(the
site
collection
the
site
belongs

to),
and
then
open
the
corresponding
SPWeb
instance.
To
access
an
SPSite
instance,
you
can
create
it
using
one
of the
available
constructors,
or
you
can
obtain
a reference
to
it
through
its
parent

SPWebApplication
instance.
