Ran was cleaning the living room, while her dad was reading the newspaper and drinking cup of coffee. She was happy that her dad reconciled with everything what happened to him. However, Ran was still surprised by it. She expected her dad to be depressed and getting drunk all the time, but he was behaving as always. Ran suspected that her dad acted as tough man, because he didn't want to seem as some weak man that cannot handle the truth. Even though, he was refusing his clients to investigate their cases, he accepted one case which involved adultery and luckily, he was able to prove that a husband was cheating with his secretary. After this case, Kogoro made the comment that if he would stick with this kind of cases, then they would not bankruptcy, for sure. However, they didn't mention about Shinichi, not even once, they just carry on with their lives. Ran was tempted to start the conversation about Shinichi, but she knew that it would make her dad angry and she wanted to avoid it, especially now that a chance existed for her parents to be together again. The doorbell rang and Ran went towards the door. She saw three widely smiled kids behind it."Hi!" the detective boys welcomed Ran and Kogoro, who raised his head above his newspaper, still holding the cup in his hand."What do you want? And don't tell me that it's just some stupid case," Kogoro looked annoyed. The detective boys' smiles were replaced by the annoyance, but the corner of their lips went up again, when Ran asked them why they came in, in the friendly way, though she shot the death glare towards her dad, which made him scared."Well, Conan-kun and Ai-chan are leaving Japan, so we thought that it would be nice to make the farewell party for them," Ayumi explained and then Mitsuhiko continued, "The party will be tomorrow at three afternoon at the professor Agasa's house.""And you are invited and there would be lots of yummy food," Genta finished. The kids focused their eyes on Ran and Kogoro, not moving an inch. Ran observed her father, who clearly was in deep thoughts. She realized that he was trying to find an excuse to refuse, however, she was surprised, when she heard her dad muttering, "Yoko-chan's TV drama is at two o'clock, but wait her cooking will be at half-past three.""Come on, you can record it!" Mitsuhiko said irritated and other kids agreed with him."Fine, but if something would go wrong, it would be your fault.""That means that you will come?" Ayumi asked as the smile appeared across her lips."Yeah, we'll come," Kogoro responded with his boring voice."Yay!" the detective boys' clapped their hands together. They said goodbye to Kogoro and Ran and they left informing them that they still have more people to invite.Ran stood in front of her father, looking stunned."What?""Dad, did you just agree to come for the farewell party for Conan?" she still couldn't believe in what just happened. There was no way that her father could agree so easily for anything regarding Conan."Why, should I refuse anything what involves food?" Kogoro asked confused as he didn't understand how his daughter could be surprised by something that obvious."But, Conan will be there and you are still mad at him, aren't you?" Ran's voice didn't sound much convinced, but then again she doubted that her father could just forgive Shinichi for what he did."I was thinking much about it and you're right, I'm still mad at Kudo for using me, but in the end of the day, he was the victim and I am the detective, and the roles of the detectives is standing by victims' side, no matter what and beside it wasn't his fault, not at all," Kogoro looked downcast.Ran was touched by her dad's words. She didn't expect him to feel a compassion for Shinichi."Look, if you want to forgive him, then do it. You are a big girl now and you can make your decisions on your own now, but if you decide not to, at least not be too hard on him. He already went through enough with the organization," Kogoro advised his daughter. After that he went towards the desk and sat behind it. He grasped his head and took a deep breath. After few seconds, he asked his daughter to leave him alone.Ran wanted to stay with her dad, because she saw how her dad was worried, but she decided against it. She went to her room, considering that maybe she could forgive Shinichi, but she was afraid that he would take her for granted and also, she couldn't help, but to think that there was something else that he wasn't telling her. However, nothing was coming to her head and beside why he would hide anything from her, when he already revealed so shocking truth about himself.________________________________________In the next day, Ran and Kogoro went to the Agasa's house for the party. The autumn sun shined above them, though they could feel the little breeze. The house was already full of people. Of course, they were late, because Kogoro was busying with setting up the recording system, so he could watch Yoko's shows in the next day. Ran wasn't surprise that her dad went towards the table with the food, right away. She noticed Hattori with Kazuha, Sonoko and Sera near the table and Conan as well."Hi," she welcomed her friends."Hi, Ran-chan!" Kazuha smiled at Ran, but she quickly added, "Don't worry Ran-chan, I already scolded Conan-kun for lying to you.""She did," Heiji agreed laughing.Ran giggled, it meant that Hattori had to tell everything to Kazuha. She could imagine how Kazuha was scolding Conan as he was the kid, who behaved badly. She looked at him expecting that maybe he was also smiling, but he looked away. There was no doubt that he tried to avoid any eye contact with her.Kogoro stood behind Conan and he punched him in the head. He touched his head and the tears from the pain appeared in his eyes.
"What's for?" he whined.
"Well, consider it as the goodbye punch, but the main reason for it is of what happened in the hot springs at Inn Benkei!"
Ran turned red, Why everyone has to mention about it!
She just hoped that neither Sonoko nor Sera would pick up on this topic. Luckily, Sonoko changed the topic, though Ran looked surprised by the news that Sonoko announced.
"The Osaka couple got together."
"Really?! That's amazing! Congratulation!" Ran felt so happy for them, it worked for them, at least.
"If I wouldn't confess first, then we still would be just friends," Kazuha said taking Heiji by his arm, who turned towards her and he shouted, "What do you mean by first? I was the one, who confessed to you first!"
"What? I confessed first, ahou!"
"There there, the most important thing is that you are together now," Ran comforted Heiji and Kazuha, who came to the conclusion that their fight had no sense.
Ran noticed Conan leaving the group and going somewhere else. Part of her hoped that maybe, Conan would try to do everything to make her completely forgive him, but instead he was just avoiding her. Was he afraid of her father? However, he decided to come for his farewell party, shouldn't he see it as the chance for them? Ran knew that if maybe Conan would try harder, then maybe she would be able to forgive him sooner.
She looked around and she saw the detective boys talking with Ai. They looked excited and they laugh together. Ran missed the time, when she was the kid. Everything was much simple back then.
On the other side of the room, inspector Megure and the police officers were talking with professor Agasa. It actually reminded her that she was going to ask someone from the police about Amuro.
She approached them and she asked, "Hi, how are you? I was wondering how Amuro's case is going? I know that he was the one who confessed everything to the police, so I'm concerned about him."
"He will have his first trial in the next week and we all hope that it would go in a good direction," Takagi stated.
"Yeah, me too, if only my mum didn't decide to leave to Paris, then she would surely defend him," Ran said.
"Yeah," inspector Megure agreed.
"Well, we need to stay positive," professor Agasa said.
"Yeah, we shouldn't worry too much," Sato agreed.
Ran smiled at them. Their attitudes made her thinking positively as well.

Conan walked down to the basement. He needed a moment for himself. He didn't expect that Ran would show up, especially with Kogoro. He was acting so normally. He should despise him as he was despising himself of what happened.
Conan was so deep in his thought that he didn't notice Heiji creeping behind him.
"Boo!"
Conan jumped, looking annoyed at Heiji.
"What are you doing here?"
"What, ya mean? I want to say goodbye to ya, aren't we as close as brothers? Though, I need to admit that I would miss ya as a kid," Heiji wiped his eye and he grinned at him.
"I'm not in the mood," Conan responded grimly.
"I'm surprised, I thought that Ran's presence would make you happy."
"How can I be happy after of what happened?"
"I guess it means that you didn't tell her the truth yet," Heiji stated sceptically.
"There is no 'yet', because I'm not going to reveal the truth to her under any circumstances," Conan hissed through his teeth.
"Yea, good luck with that."
"Look, I get that you have different opinion on that, but please could you not get involved in it?" Conan's eyes narrowed and he could feel the irritation inside of him.
"Well, I can, but ya need to know that yer plan would not work forever and sooner or later, ya would have to tell her the truth and as long ya will try to put it aside as much she would be hurt and at that point, she could be at this stage, where it would be hard to get her back. Also, ya would feel much relieve, if ya just tell her the truth," Hattori looked concerned.
Conan's irritation changed into anger, he tightened his fists and he barely prevented himself from yelling at Hattori.
