55 years of Vietnam-Cuba solidarity, cooperation reviewed

A discussion of five and a half decades of solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba was held in Hanoi on September 10 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

The event, held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, hosted Santiago Perez Castellanos – Head of the Department on Agriculture and Food of the Communist Party of Cuba , Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz and representatives of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples.

On December 2, 1960, the Cuban and Vietnamese Governments set up a diplomatic relationship, opening a new chapter for the friendship between the two countries.



At the event, participants said such special relations between the two Parties, Governments and peoples are rare in the contemporary world. Vietnam and Cuba have stood side-by-side during their past struggles for independence and freedom as well as current national development and protection efforts.

Bilateral cooperation is being expanded to numerous fields such as agriculture, industry, construction, trade, investment, culture, education, science and technology, they noted, adding that the advancement of their ties contributes to the maintenance of socialism in each country.



Vietnamese and Cuban delegates described the consistent solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the nations and peoples as a precious shared asset, believing that future generations would continue treasuring the solidarity and friendship and actively dedicating themselves to each country’s growth and protection along with peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Also on September 10, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of HCM City launched a poster-drawing competition on the two countries’ amity on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

Một cuộc thảo luận của năm và một nửa thập kỷ của sự đoàn kết và hợp tác giữa Việt Nam và Cuba đã được tổ chức tại Hà Nội vào ngày 10 tháng 9 trên . Nhân dịp kỷ niệm 55 năm quan hệ ngoại giao giữa hai nước, sự kiện được tổ chức bởi Viện Hàn Lâm Hồ Chí Minh Chính trị và Hội Hữu nghị Việt Nam-Cuba, tổ chức Santiago Perez Castellanos - Cục trưởng Cục Nông nghiệp và Thực phẩm của Cộng sản Đảng của Cuba, Cuba Đại sứ Việt Nam Herminio Lopez Diaz và đại diện của Viện Cuba Hữu nghị với nhân dân. Ngày 02 tháng 12 năm 1960, Chính phủ Cuba và Việt Nam thành lập một mối quan hệ ngoại giao, mở ra một chương mới cho quan hệ hữu nghị giữa hai quốc gia. Tại sự kiện này, người tham gia cho biết mối quan hệ đặc biệt như vậy giữa hai Đảng, Chính phủ và nhân dân là rất hiếm trong thế giới đương đại. Việt Nam và Cuba đã đứng side-by-side trong cuộc đấu tranh trong quá khứ của mình cho độc lập và tự do cũng như phát triển đất nước hiện nay và các nỗ lực bảo vệ. Hợp tác song phương đang được mở rộng đến nhiều lĩnh vực như nông nghiệp, công nghiệp, xây dựng, thương mại, đầu tư, văn hóa, giáo dục, khoa học và công nghệ, họ lưu ý thêm rằng sự tiến bộ của các mối quan hệ của họ góp phần vào việc bảo trì của chủ nghĩa xã hội ở mỗi quốc gia. Việt Nam và các đại biểu Cuba mô tả sự đoàn kết thống nhất, hợp tác toàn diện và tin cậy lẫn nhau giữa các quốc gia và dân tộc như một tài sản chung quý báu , tin rằng các thế hệ tương lai sẽ tiếp tục trân trọng tình đoàn kết, hữu nghị và tích cực cống hiến bản thân để phát triển và bảo vệ của mỗi nước cùng với hòa bình, ổn định và phát triển trong khu vực và trên thế giới. Cũng trong ngày 10 tháng 9, TP Liên hiệp các tổ chức hữu nghị Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh và Hội Hữu nghị Việt Nam-Cuba của Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh phát động cuộc thi vẽ poster về tình giao hảo giữa hai nước nhân dịp niệm 55 năm quan hệ ngoại giao.
