Old Brough Superior Bikes Thought Lost Discovered, Now Worth a Small Fortune

A spectacular motorcycle collection was discovered in Cornwall, the UK, and even if the bikes are age-worn and battered, they are worth a small fortune.

We're talking about one of the "urban myths," the so-called "Broughs of Bodmin Moor" lot, a group of Brough Superior machines thought to have been either lost or to have never existed at all.

These bikes were found in barns, after spending around half a century there, some of them buried in dust and household junk. Likewise, it is believed that the chances of finding similar collections have grown quite small after this discovery.

Among these motorcycles, the eighth four-cylinder Brough was found, the last one of its kind ever manufactured. One of the most interesting machines discovered was owned by one of George Brough's friends, Hubert Cantrey. The Brough Superior 750cc BS4 has two rear wheels and looks spectacular. It is expected to sell for anything between €110,000 and €165,000 ($121,000-182,000).

Other machines worth mentioning are a 1938 982cc SS100 (€82,000-110,000 or $91,000-121,000) and a 1926 SS100 (€55,000 or $60,000).
