* These families are often forced to choose between housing and other necessities for their survival

* Poverty strikes the salaried as well as the hourly paid workers, skilled as well as unskilled
* Poverty can lead to high levels of stress that in turn may lead individuals to commit theft, robbery, or other violent acts.
+ Lack of basic hygiene and transmission of diseases
* Poverty is usually associated with dirt and deprivation
* The poor are lacked of basic hygiene and sanitation services such as clean piped water and personal toilets
* Health
+ Increase the chances of poor health
* Poor health in turn traps communities in poverty.
* The poor are exposed to greater personal and environmental health risks, are less well nourished
+ Lack of health care and health insurance
* Have less information and are less able to access health care
* Because health insurance are not available free, poor families often go without treatment when they are ill.
+ Children with emotional and behavioral problem
