Ronald Knox
Ronald had been trying every line in the book to pick you up at the party. Rori’s parties were infamous for no one being able to leave single, and you could tell that was probably why Ronald was here in the first place. He was cute, no doubt about it, but you were going to let him work a little harder before you started giving in. That’s just how you are. You wanted to ask him if that little strand of hair that stuck up at the top of his head was natural, or if he deliberately stuck it up like that. It definitely added to his approachable cuteness.
“Ronald!” you called. He turned quickly to you, looking considerably like a puppy leaping at his master’s call. “Your hair. Does it just naturally stick up, or—“
You were interrupted when Rori yelled out, “SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN!” and you can’t say you were overly pleased. With this crowd, the game was sure to be ridiculously awkward, but then you looked at Rori. What did she care about awkward? She was totally oblivious, with her oversized black glasses and the fact that Grell was literally hanging from her arm. You weren’t getting out of this, that was for sure.
After William and the shy girl emerged looking red and embarrassed, it was all you could do to pray you didn’t get Grell. You didn’t, luckily, and stood safely by as he was peeled off of Rori to get stuffed into the closet with the loud girl.
Rori decided it was best to torture you next. She ran up to you with the hat filled with names (taken from Undertaker’s head), and you gave way, randomly grabbing the top one. You turned magenta when you read the name. “Ronald Knox.”
Rori was probably more thrilled by this than she should have been, and it wasn’t ten seconds before you were thrust together into the tight box Rori called a closet.
You stood awkwardly in silence for a moment. Should you approach him? He was a bit famous for loving parties, so surely he’d played this before. You were contemplating different plans of action when Ronald suddenly said, “Ehm…I’ve…never actually played this game before.”
You were slightly astounded by this remark, and literally burst out, “What!?”
He looked embarrassed, and shoved his hands into his pockets. “I—I just don’t usually—“
“I can teach you,” You said, and were immediately humiliated. Why would you say that? You were trying to play hard to get, remember?
He smiled, a little mischievously—he couldn’t help it. He came over to you and wrapped his arms around your shoulders. “Just tell me if I’m doing it right,” he said. He leaned down and kissed you, and you didn’t resist. He smelled sweet, and he almost felt innocent.
You pulled away and smiled, saying, “Oh…you’re doing it right, trust me.”
You leaned against the wall, letting him continue to kiss you. After a moment, he said, “It’s natural.”
“What?”
“My hair.”
He would say something awkward just when things were getting exciting. (Well, there had to be something he was doing wrong if Eric Slingby could take off with a girl Ronald wanted.) Rori suddenly burst the door open, pulling you out and looking way too pleased. Grell grinned at you two, and Ronald put his hands back into his pockets, blushing. You could only smile.
