Below are the answers to your concerns regarding the migration of SMART Link service to Thuraya Terminals.



1) Expiration of his existing smart link credits/prepaid cards. Will he still be able to use it after Dec 2015?



Yes, he can still use his existing web top-up after Dec 31, 2015 provided that his customers migrate to Thuraya terminals.

The expiry of the web-top is based on the loading date. Validity is 120 days upon loading.



Below are the Thuraya units that subscribers can purchase to migrate to SMART Link service:

- Thuraya XT

- Thuraya XT Lite

- Thuraya SF2500

- Thuraya XT Pro

- Thuraya Sat Sleeve



If the subscriber opted to purchase the Thuraya units via local source or at their country of origin, they need to request SMART Communications

to register their units by providing the unit’s IMEI number. We will email another set of FAQs for this scenario.



2) The price of the Thuraya phones is quite expensive and not everyone can afford it since these are used mainly by fishermen.



We can provide free Thuraya XT with FDU based on the following requirements:



1. We will consider your customers with monthly usage of P2,500.00 for the free terminals.

2. You will buy P2,000 Smart Link top up cards for every free unit we give you.

3. You will send us the following details of the customers you give the free unit to:

a. Name of customer

b. Name of vessel/ship of customer

c. The Smart Link SIM number they are using

d. The IMEI of the XT/XT-Lite you will give them



3) You mentioned about supplying the Thuraya Satellite phones for free for all existing users as long as he can provide you all his subscriber's number?



Yes, we can provide free Thuraya terminals. Kindly email us based on the criteria provided above. We need the list of the SMART LINK MINs of your customers so that we can check usage and provide free units to those MINs that qualify.
