There are 3 levels of education in the formal school system in Vietnam: Pre – school, Primary education, Secondary education. The Secondary education consists lower secondary education and upper secondary education. Primary and lower secondary education are compulsory in Vietnam. Children start going to primary school at the age of 6 and after 5 years they move to lower secondary school where they study for 4 years. The upper secondary education lasts 3 years, from the age of 15 to 17. In order to study at a university, students have to pass the national examination held in early June every year for the GCSE. The academic year is divided into 2 terms. It lasts 9 months from September 5th to the end of May. The first term is from September to December and the second term lasts from January to May. Students have a 3-month -summer holiday after the second term.

Có 3 cấp học trong hệ thống giáo dục chính quy ở Việt Nam: Pre - trường học, giáo dục tiểu học, Giáo dục trung học. Các Giáo dục trung học bao gồm giáo dục trung học cơ sở và trung học phổ thông. Tiểu học và trung học cơ sở là bắt buộc ở Việt Nam. Trẻ em bắt đầu đi học tiểu học ở tuổi 6 và sau 5 năm chúng di chuyển để giảm trường học nơi mà họ nghiên cứu trong 4 năm. Giáo dục phổ thông kéo dài 3 năm, từ độ tuổi 15 đến 17. Để du học tại một trường đại học, sinh viên phải vượt qua các kỳ thi quốc gia được tổ chức vào đầu tháng Sáu hàng năm cho các chương trình GCSE. Một năm học được chia thành 2 học kỳ. Nó kéo dài 9 tháng kể từ ngày 05 tháng 9 đến cuối tháng. Nhiệm kỳ đầu tiên là từ tháng Chín đến tháng Mười Hai và nhiệm kỳ thứ hai kéo dài từ tháng Giêng đến tháng Năm. Học sinh có 3 tháng -summer kỳ nghỉ sau khi nhiệm kỳ thứ hai.
