The promotion of elongation in rice

The promotion of elongation in rice involves an increase in cell elongation and cell division. Autoradiography of [ H]thymidine-labeled tissue showed ac­tivation of cell division and longitudinal expansion of the intercalary meristem (MET84073). The promotive effect of ethylene on the growth of rice is shown in Figures 5.9. and 5.10
