While the importance and significance of volunteer involvement in sport is well established, the outcomes of a recent industry-wide consultation of sport as well as other recent research (Cuskelly, 2004; Cuskelly, Taylor, Hoye and Darcy, 2007) indicate that there is trend of declining involvement in community sport volunteering. Changes in volunteer involvement suggest that volunteering may be becoming more peripheral and short term. As Cuskelly (2004) suggested, a decrease in volunteer work capacity is likely to have an impact on the provision of sport participation opportunities throughout the country.
These problems above explained why the number of sport volunteer decrease day by day, they were identified from the State Sport Organization and Sport Association focus group sessions. The issues identified included:
