Central banks in two of the world’s largest economies – the United States and Japan -- left interest rates unchanged this week.In the United States, the Federal Reserve left the main interest rates it controls at their current levels.The Federal Open Market Committee decides the U.S. government’s monetary policy. The committee’s members met for two days in Washington, DC.Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen spoke to reporters Wednesday after the meetings.
