3.7.2 Gateways and portals
Notwithstanding this note of caution, there are useful websites that provide access to quality- tested free legal information on the Internet. These are known as ‘gateway’ or ‘portal’ sites. Often configured as subject directories, these tend to be much more reliable and effective than search engines as legal information finding tools.
A good example is the directory of links and descriptions of quality legal websites maintained by Delia Venables, a legal computing consultant and writer, at www.venables.co.uk.
