For Kingston Farady, a daily ritual of taking care of body, mind, and spirit became crucial while transitioning his gender.Kingston Farady is a self-identified activist, writer, public speaker, and performance artist. He's also acted in several independent films including a short film called Black is Blue, written and directed by prominent black queer filmmaker Cheryl Dunye. But before accomplishing all this, Kingston struggled with a big part of his identity. He was assigned female at birth even though he knew he was meant to live life as a man.Kingston's gender identity brought on a lot of questions for him growing up. He began to think about transitioning around age 17, asking himself if it was possible he'd been assigned the wrong gender. He finally decided to start his transition at age 25. The first time he received a testosterone shot he knew he made the right decision.
