Pakistan's Foreign Ministry dismissed any concerns about harming ties between the two countries. The shooting took place in late January in Lahore.American officials say the diplomat shot and killed two Pakistani men in defence during a robbery attempt. A third Pakistani man was killed by a diplomatic vehicle. The United States says the diplomat is protected from legal action.
