You can find the correct grade of oil to use for your car in the handbook – remember, using anything other than the manufacturer’s recommended oil can invalidate a car’s warranty.

When the engine is cool, locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine. Twist and remove, ensuring no debris falls inside. Using a funnel, slowly pour the oil in, waiting a few moments for it to percolate into the depths of the engine. Check the level using the dipstick and pour more oil in if necessary. The level should be just below the maximum mark, but it’s vital you don’t overfill. Replace the dipstick and screw the oil cap back on tightly.
