Local Directories (SAP System)
The installer also creates local directories that reside on the local hosts. The directory /usr/sap/
contains files for the operation of a local instance as well as symbolic links to the data for one
system. This directory is physically located on each host in the SAP system and contains the following
subdirectories:

NOTE
The subdirectories of /usr/sap//SYS have symbolic links to the corresponding
subdirectories of //, as shown in the figure above.
å×€† ‡ Instance-specific directories with the following names:
å×€† í The directory of the primary application server instance is called
DVEBMGS, where is the instance number.
å×€† í The directory of an additional application server instance is called D, where
is the instance number.
å×€† ‡ The directory of the central services instance (SCS instance) is called SCS,
where is the instance number.
å×€† ‡ The directory of the central services instance for ABAP (ASCS instance) is called
ASCS, where is the instance number.
å×€† ‡ The directory of an enqueue replication server instance (ERS instance) is called
ERS, where is the instance number.
One ERS instance can be installed for the SCS instance, and one for the ASCS instance. If you install
a high-availability system, you must install an ERS instance each for the ASCS instance and for the
SCS instance.
